Desert Data Recovery ("we," "us," "our"), an ioLogik company, operates www.desertdatarecovery.com. This policy explains what personal information this website collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We keep it short and specific to what the site actually does.
What this policy covers
This policy covers information collected through this website. The storage media you bring or ship to us for recovery, and the data on it, are handled under our service terms and confidentiality practices, not this website policy. We access media only to diagnose and recover it, and we never sell or share its contents.
Information you give us
- Request forms. When you request service through a form on this site, we collect your name, phone number and email address, plus optional details you provide such as your company name, device type, brand and model, a description of the failure, whether another company has worked on the device, and the type of service you need.
- Online case intake. Our "Start a free evaluation" buttons take you to an intake form hosted by our case-management provider. Information you enter there is collected by us through that provider and is also subject to that provider's privacy practices.
- Calls and emails. If you call or email us, we keep the information you share so we can help you.
Please describe your device and its problem only. Don't put passwords, health information, payment details or other sensitive information in a website form.
Information collected automatically
- Google Analytics (GA4). We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and the site that referred you. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies.
- Google Ads. We use the Google Ads tag to measure whether our ads lead to inquiries, for example recording a conversion when a request form is submitted or an intake button is clicked. This tag uses cookies and ad-click identifiers and may be used by Google for advertising purposes, including showing our ads to people who have visited the site.
- Campaign information. If you arrive from an ad or a tracked link, the site keeps the campaign details from the link (for example,
utm_parameters, Google and Meta click IDs, and the referring site) in your browser for the current session. If you click through to our intake form, they're included in that link so we know which campaign brought you. Otherwise they stay in your browser. - Hosting and security logs. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Embedded maps. Our Locations pages embed Google Maps, which may set cookies or collect information under Google's own privacy policy when the map loads.
Our help assistant
The "Questions? Ask us" assistant is an automated FAQ tool that runs entirely in your browser. It doesn't use artificial intelligence, and what you type into it is never sent to us or anyone else, and is never stored.
How we use information
- To respond to your request, evaluate your device, provide a quote and deliver our services
- To contact you about your case
- To measure and improve our website and advertising
- To prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and keep the site secure
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
How we share information
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only as described here:
- Service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host (Cloudflare), analytics and advertising (Google), our case-management and customer-relationship systems, and email delivery for internal notifications. They may use the information only to provide services to us, except where their own policies apply, as with Google's advertising tags.
- Our parent company, ioLogik, which helps operate Desert Data Recovery.
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect our rights, customers or others.
- Business transfers, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
Your choices
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work.
- Google Analytics. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Ad personalization. You can manage how Google personalizes ads at My Ad Center, and learn more at how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Do Not Track. Browsers don't share a standard for "Do Not Track" signals, and this site doesn't currently respond to them.
How long we keep information
- Request and case information is kept as long as needed to provide our services and for our business, tax and legal records.
- Analytics data is kept according to the retention settings in our Google Analytics account.
- Campaign information is cleared from your browser when you close the tab or browser.
- The help assistant keeps nothing.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections for the site and our forms. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to people who need it.
Children's privacy
This website is intended for adults and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, subject to records we must keep for legal or business reasons. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on it, and we won't treat you differently for exercising your rights.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
